A Walk to Run© Program
By Lynn Gray, M.S.
RRCA Certified Running Coach
Have you tried every combination of exercise from Aerobics class to Zen Yoga? Is this A-Z approach working for you?
We know through research that people join group exercise programs with one or more of the following goals in mind:
1. Camaraderie - Motivation to stick with the fitness goal
2. Weight management and overall increased mental well being
3. Improve health markers-Blood pressure, cholesterol, cardio vascular, etc.
How can you achieve results and stay in a group exercise program?
A professional coach who can help prevent injuries, keep you motivated, and give you the tools you need to achieve your individual goals.
In Matters of Fitness, Staying Motivated is the Biggest Challenge. When the challenge is met and the event is completed you would have accomplished what less than 1% of our society can do.

It begins with muscular development and agility of all major muscle groups, then adaptation of distance walking and running ratios. Gradual distance non-stop running greatly increases cardiovascular fitness and the metabolic rate, just to mention a few health markers women over 40 are often challenged with.
One Year to Total Fitness: Marathon College is a one year course which comprises all of the above components of a developing a fit lifestyle. The yearly course is divided into four semesters which cover each stage of fitness necessary to build the foundation toward a healthy body able to complete a distance event such as a marathon or half.
Camaraderie: The participant gains increased motivation with their “support fitness groups” and having a “cause” to train for. The cause is a distance event which is heartfelt and lends itself to camaraderie and gives us reason to “push our fitness envelope”. Camaraderie and charity are key motivators to fitness and bring upon lasting physical lifestyle changes.
